Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of presses, ensuring high-quality production standards while adhering to safety protocols. This role requires precision, technical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate stamping presses and other machinery to produce parts according to specifications.
- Utilize tools such as micrometers and calipers for precise measurements and quality control.
- Assemble components as needed, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including electrical discharge machining and tooling adjustments.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize production processes.
- Safely operate cranes and forklifts for material handling within the production area.
- Follow GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accuracy in production.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Press Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating stamping presses, lathes, and other relevant machinery.
- Familiarity with programming and setup of production equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
