Job Title : Evaporator Operator
Job Summary :
The Evaporator Operator is responsible for efficiently operating the Evaporator, Mechanical Vapor Recovery (MVR), and Thermal Vapor Recovery (TVR) systems. This role ensures optimal production while maintaining safety, quality, and operational standards.
Evaporator Operator Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Set up the evaporator for startup, ensuring proper configurations.
Inspect equipment for leaks and perform necessary adjustments, including changing elbows, valves, and divert boards.
Check and document pH levels.
Monitor and maintain machine performance to maximize production.
Conduct production analysis, including sampling pH levels and solids, and adjust as needed.
Perform shutdown procedures and operate the Clean-in-Place (CIP) system, making necessary adjustments.
Monitor tank inventories and assist in coordinating production schedules.
Perform routine maintenance and report major repairs to management and maintenance teams.
Follow all safety protocols and use required safety equipment.
Assist in training and guiding new team members.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management to ensure efficient operations.
Evaporator Operator Qualifications :
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Experience with filtration systems such as Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nanofiltration (NF), or Microfiltration is a plus but not required.
Education Requirements :
Evaporator Operator Physical Demands :
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and using hands.
Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Evaporator Operator Work Environment :
Exposure to noise, odors, dust, and discharge from the production process.
Other Duties :
Promptly report actual or potential food safety concerns to management.
Adhere to food safety metrics and SQF Code as relevant to the role.
Actively contribute to building a culture of food safety and quality.
Serve as a backup for absent team members as needed.
Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Document all process parameters accurately and report any deviations or food safety concerns to a supervisor.
Participate in special projects and take on additional responsibilities as required.
