What You'll Be Doing
As an Experienced Tool Maker, you'll play a key role in ensuring top-quality tool and mold performance. Your responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting CAD models, blueprints, and sketches.
- Programming, setting up, and operating:
- Mitsubishi EDM Sinker
- Roku High-Speed Milling Machine
- Makino Wire EDM (using Surfcam, Mastercam, ESPRIT)
- Mitsubishi EDM Sinker
- Creating and programming electrodes from CAD models.
- Polishing, fitting, assembling, and disassembling molds.
- Using precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to verify part specs.
- Operating overhead cranes for mold/component movement.
- Improving efficiency through process evaluation and staying updated on industry advancements.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Journey Toolmaker card or CNC machining degree (preferred)
- 5 years of plastic injection mold building/repair
- CNC programming expertise
Skills & Attributes
- Proficiency in Surfcam, Mastercam, ESPRITCAM, and Solidworks
- Strong understanding of NC code, CAD, and blueprint interpretation
- Math skills (algebra, geometry, machining calculations)
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and independent problem solver
Additional Requirements - Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a shop-floor environment.
- Must be onsite daily in Manitowoc, WI (no remote work).
- U.S. work authorization required (no sponsorship available).
