Trimmer Job Summary: The Plastics Trimmer is responsible for trimming, flaming, and deburring plastic parts. This role ensures the quality of molded plastic parts by inspecting for defects and trimming them to meet quality standards.
Trimmer Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspect and review plastic parts immediately after molding
- Use a variety of hand tools and power equipment to meet part standards
- Demonstrate proper usage and safety procedures for hand tools
- Identify and prevent defective parts from being used
- Ensure parts comply with customer and quality specifications while maintaining an appropriate production pace
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs
- Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and ability to follow detailed work instructions
- Strong ability to detect and communicate molding defects effectively
- Resilience in handling difficult and complex situations
- Demonstrates integrity, openness, and honesty in all dealings
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to create and maintain accurate production records
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Experience: Prior rotational molding experience preferred
- Technology/Computer Equipment: Ability to utilize computer platforms to access work instructions
- Frequent standing and walking required
- Occasional stair climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above shoulders
- Frequent lifting of 10 to 20 lbs.; occasional lifting of 20 to 40 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required for daily tasks
- Patience and professionalism in handling challenges
- Ability to work effectively with and around others
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
