Description
AbeTech is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks. The candidate will also collaborate with colleagues on shared assemblies via a coordinated version management system. This role will be part of our Machine Vision Team.
Responsibilities:
- Quickly design and develop mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with colleagues on shared assemblies via a coordinated version management system.
- Generate bills-of-materials for assemblies and make vendor recommendations as necessary.
- Conduct research and analysis to determine the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of mechanical components into larger systems.
- Create technical drawings and models for manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical prototypes.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any mechanical design related issues during testing and production.
- Conduct system design reviews to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and/or related experience.
- 5 years working in a mechanical engineering role.
- Proven Experience working with assemblers and quality control roles
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM is valuable.
- Familiarity with designing hygienic equipment for use in a wash-down food grade environment.
- Experience designing with sheet metal for fabrication with techniques such as bending, welding, and fastening.
- Experience working closely with manufacturing and QC teams.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards and GD&T principles.
- An understanding of Finite Element Analysis for structural analysis is valuable.
- Must enjoy solving logic puzzles and have high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with mechatronics is valuable.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience interacting directly with manufacturing and quality control teams.

Salary : $85,000 - $115,000
