Production Manager

- Must have experience in a manufacturing plant environment with knowledge of machining, forming, punching, plating, painting, and assembly processes?the ability to oversee and coordinate these operations to ensure quality and efficiency is required.
- Expertise in AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards to provide continuous improvement methodologies to identify inefficiencies and drive productivity.
- Strong understanding of the manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry standards relevant to the specific plant?s operations.
- Skills in controlling operational costs and optimizing resource usage.
- Strong skills in diagnosing production issues, analyzing data, and implementing solutions to prevent future problems.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate between various departments, convey complex information clearly, and work with the stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated strong leadership with a charismatic approach, inspiring and motivating teams to achieve high performance and fostering a collaborative and positive workplace culture.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead change management projects in a manufacturing environment, including process optimization, lean initiatives, and workforce realignment, resulting in increased production efficiency and reduced operational costs.
- Create strategic plans to enhance the efficiency of the production floor and related pre-production processes.
- Oversee scheduling and production control to forecast, coordinate and ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and production related items.
- Set strategic production goals; communicate and enforce them effectively with a diverse workforce.
- Partner with Quality Management to integrate and align the AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards to the production processes.
- Identify and create performance metrics throughout the production and pre-production processes.
- Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines.
- Evaluate employee performance and opportunities for improvement and advancement.
- Provide transformational leadership to grow internal resources, including the creation of internal mentorship programs and resources succession planning.
- Foster a cooperative and harmonious working environment to maximize employee morale and productivity.
- Determine the material and human resources needed to meet production goals.
- Work closely with all internal and external teams to execute company and production goals.
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles, including performing Kaizen events to solve production-related problems.
- Strong focus on ensuring a safe working environment, with knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
- Participate in strategic planning activities.
It?s about You!
- Bachelor's degree in operations, engineering or business administration, a 4-year technical degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
- A strong engineering or mechanical aptitude is a must.
- 5 year?s experience managing manufacturing operations in a multi-disciplinary job shop environment.
- Five years' experience working with manufacturing-based ERP system.
- Experience with AS 9100 and ISO 9001 standards and compliance required.
- Expertise in Lean manufacturing and working knowledge of the principles.
- Must possess strong communication skills to engage effectively with management at all levels and employees throughout the organization.
- Must be able to exercise sound judgment and have strong problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements to do the job:
- Ability to move around the plant, including walking long distances, standing for extended periods, and navigating around machinery and equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry objects, typically up to 25-50 pounds, which may include tools, equipment, or paperwork.
- Proficiency in using a computer and other office equipment.
- Good vision to read documents, view computer screens, and monitor equipment and processes.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of a high-energy, fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, such as exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and humidity typically found in manufacturing settings.
