Position Description
The Receiver and Hardware Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, inventorying, maintaining, and distributing materials and supplies to support production operations. This role ensures accurate tracking and movement of inventory, verifies shipments, and assists in maintaining compliance with company policies and quality standards. The specialist will work closely with Quality Control, Production, and Inventory Management teams to ensure efficient and accurate material handling.

- Ensuring shipments, inventory records, and material movement are precise to prevent errors and maintain compliance.
- Ability to efficiently track, store, issue, and manage materials using ERP systems and inventory control processes.
- Effectively collaborating with production, quality control, and inventory teams while providing excellent internal customer service.
- Following safety protocols, handling materials properly, and operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Receive and unload incoming materials, ensuring accuracy by comparing shipment details against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Check for certificates of conformance and certifications with material and hardware.
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects, document discrepancies, and notify supervisors or purchasing personnel.
- Stage parts/materials for inspection and assist with movement of parts after inspection.
- Process return shipments when necessary.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in production areas and storage locations.
- Move materials and jobs to appropriate areas under the guidance of the production supervisor.
- Pre-pull, kit, electronically issue, and deliver materials to the production area according to work travelers.
- Assist in accurate and thorough inventory counts and issuing of parts and materials.
- Utilize computerized or automated inventory systems to track materials and maintain records.
- Operate dollies, pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-moving equipment to load/unload, transport, or reorganize stock.
- Safely handle and reorganize heavy or hazardous materials as needed.
- Follow all safety and environmental procedures to maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
- Maintain and update inventory databases and tracking systems.
- Scan and process paperwork related to shipments, inventory movement, and inspections.
- Provide a high level of internal customer service, collaborating with Production, Quality Control, and Inventory Management teams.
- Follow established continuous quality improvement objectives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist Inventory Control Manager in accurate and thorough counts or issuing of parts and material.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in inventory management, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Must be familiar with quality standards (ISO90011/AS9100)
- Able to use computer, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to perform/be trained in basic inspections using standard inspection tooling, calipers, tape measure, and steel rule
- Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to manipulate and lift heavy objects.
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to climb stairs, reach, bend, kneel, and use rolling ladders to retrieve and stock inventory.
