Company Overview:
Abrasive Form is a leading aerospace manufacturing company dedicated to innovation and excellence. We specialize in producing high-quality components and systems for the aerospace industry, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance.
Basic Function: Analyze specifications, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make, repair and layout custom fixtures and gauges for calibration.
Tasks:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair tooling, and gauges.
- Read blueprints, design, maintain, and build gauges, tools, other equipment.
- Layout gauges and fixtures to verify design and prove capability.
- Test equipment, validate that it meets specifications, and file, grind, and adjust parts as needed
- Set up and operate machine tools to machine parts to specifications and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
- Fits and assembles parts and verifies dimensions and alignment using measuring equipment.
- Complete a daily time card to accurately reflect the amount of time per job activity.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Ability to read advanced blueprints to create specialized tools and gauges.
- Have an attention to Detail.
- Strong mechanical Skills and the ability to use a number of hand tools and large scale machines to finish their products.
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Using mathematics to solve problems.
- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- The ability to listen to and communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Experience and Education:
- 2 year technical college or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 yrs. Tool making experience.
- Understanding of gauging, and dimensional layout.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
- Physical strength to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently.
- Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
