Our benefit options meet you where you are in your life and set you up for success both in and outside of work.If you want to have a positive impact in the lives of others, come join us!Behavioral Youth Counselor Basic Responsibilities : Performs case management, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling.Works and counsels with individual residents to effect and monitor treatment and progress.Utilizes group-counseling techniques to effectively monitor and enhance treatment progress.Works with external agency staff (probation officers, case workers) to understand case history and identify specific treatment needs.Coordinates the implementation of treatment related activities.Maintains and completes required documentation prior to the end of the shift.Prepares reports as required.Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.Supports and promotes the Sanctuary Model and its commitmentsBehavioral Youth Counselor Hiring Requirements : Associate degree or 60 college credits from an accredited school in related field ORHigh School Diploma or equivalent and at minimum one (1) year documented related experience.At least twenty-one (21) years of ageValid Driver's LicensePhysical exam that includes TB and drug testing.Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State Child Abuse Clearances)Clearances through State Sex Offender Registry (SSOR) & National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR)Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks; including but not limited to employment and / or personal reference and driving records.Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.Equal Opportunity EmployerAbraxas Youth & Family Services, an affiliate of Apis Services Inc., offers a rewarding career for those passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
