Abraxas Youth and Family Services at our Southern Peaks Regional Treatment Center location, is now hiring an experienced Clinical Director to join our team in Canon City, CO.

Summary:
Under limited supervision, this professional an administrative position is responsible for the development, implementation, review and evaluation of clinical treatment programs and operating procedures directed toward the therapeutic care and rehabilitation of behaviorally disordered adolescents. Incumbent is responsible for supervision and guidance of clinical/direct care staff.
Essential Functions:
- As a member of the administrative staff, contributes to project development, budge preparation and policy/procedure development.
- Assists the Facility Director in developing and implementing goals for the facility.
- Oversee and supervise clinical staff; including selection, scheduling and performance. Provide individual clinical supervision to staff members as needed. In conjunction with human resources, use corrective action as needed to improve unsatisfactory performance. Prepare staff performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance the professional development of the staff.
- Oversees compliance with internal policies and procedures and external contract and licensure requirements. Confers with judges, probation officers, police, social agencies, community groups, etc, and acts as the facility liaison to interpret the institutional program and objectives and develop cooperative working relationships.
- Coordinates interfacing of clinical services with educational, medical, community services, family services and training department.
- Conducts initial assessments on all prospective admissions for clinical appropriateness. Prepare preliminary treatment plans for all new admissions into the program.
- Consults with staff members on problems, including clinical management and operations.
- Reviews charting of staff to assure that entries are properly made, timely, and that entries correspond to client recovery
Minimum Requirements:
- The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including:
Master’s degree in human services field, plus three years experience postgraduate degree, at least one of which must have been in a residential setting. Licensure in the State of Texas as an LMFT, LPC, LMSW, LCDC required. Proven supervisory experience required.
Able to handle a variety of complex tasks; work with public officials; express thoughts logically, in English, in written and verbal form using correct grammar. Able to manager personnel, including hiring, evaluating, disciplining, terminating; delegate, motivate, control and schedule; effectively communicate with residents, clinical staff and other administrative staff members; react quickly an appropriately in an emergency situation.
Other Qualifications:
- Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI) and drug test. Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
