Position: Medical Assistant
Location: Abraxas South Mountain LDP
This position assists the Medical, Admissions, and Clinical departments with client information
reporting, maintains all client-related medical information, coordinates functions of the Medical
department, and processes medical assistance data.
Salary: $18.00 Hourly
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday

As a Youth Development Specialist, you will supervise and interact with clients in a manner that ensures the client's safety and security.
Job Duties:
- Administers prescriptions or "over the counter" medications, first aid, and triages to clients as
- Completes the medical intake process including measuring vital signs and initial health
- Initiates, maintains, and files medical information in client medical files.
- Orders and maintains stock and prescription medications and medical supplies throughout the
- Escorts clients to "off site" medical appointments and assists with medical providers when
- Performs daily assessments of program medical issues and consults or coordinates with
completed.
- Composes routine letters, correspondence, memos, reports, and other confidential information to
- Maintains medical statistical data and completes monthly reports as assigned
- Completes the medical billing process and provides accurate medical insurance information to
- Archives medical records and processes all requests for medical infom1ation.
- Initiates and processes medical referrals and transportation requests.
- Assists with staff and client education and training.
- Performs and completes all duties of a Medical Technician as required.
- Supports the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.
- Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.
Hiring Requirements:
The following education requirements are acceptable for this classification including:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least three years of related experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant (highly preferred)
- Medical Office experience (highly preferred)
- Other Qualifications:
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary,
FBI). - Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
- Valid driver's license from employee's state of residence.
- Valid registered vehicle insurance.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
