SUMMARY

Production of variable data print using various scripting and programming languages to successfully execute customer-required deliverables.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Arrive at work station at or before the start of your shift

• Understand USPS requirements for mail automation

• Participate in the testing of programs and systems to ensure proper functionality

• Layout variable print projects

• VDP Programming for all jobs

• Creates Client PDF proofs

• Setup inkjet Templates for Mailing (MCS only)

• Create PDF production files for Digital and Mailing departments

• Creates Static barcodes as requested

• Create Specialized Packing Slips as needed

• Testing for new clients and new equipment

• Create and process return PDF's

• Maintain processes in Planet press (Update Automated Jobs)

• Work on various projects as needed for the department

• QC their own work and the work of other VDP specialists

• QC Retail Pack-outs for Data Processing

• Creates Special Reports for clients or other departments as needed

• Log into Avanti when arriving, log out when going to lunch and leaving for the day

• Follow job assignments, review instructions, plan work and responsibilities for the job or project to ensure customer specification compliance

• Follow and execute the production schedule

• Comply with company and department SOP's, job description(s), and safety requirements

• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience programming with Inspire Designer, XMPie, or Planet Press is preferred

• Proficiency in MS Office, with emphasis on MS Excel a must

• Ability to effectively communicate oral and in written communication to the correct audience

• Translate technology requirements from internal personnel to external customers and vice versa

• Ability to take initiative and need minimal supervision

• Adapt to a fast-paced environment

• Learn internal software applications as required by departments

• Ability to collect the necessary information from others to make decisions regarding projects and processes

• Ability to work with a variety of personalities and skill sets and work well with others

• Handle frequent interruptions yet re-focus on the task at hand or determine the most important task

• Take responsibility for finding alternative approaches to solving or troubleshooting issues

• Ensure tasks are completed on time

• High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and quality

• Successful candidates will have a positive attitude and demonstrate a high willingness to learn and improve their skill set

• Physical dexterity:

- Ability to sit and use a keyboard and mouse for extended periods (8 hours or more)

• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret specifications and work instruction
