The Manager III, Software Delivery and Release is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality services and managing software release processes to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction. This role combines strategic leadership with operational management, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and in alignment with organizational goals.

The Manager III, Software Delivery and Release is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality services and managing software release processes to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction. This role combines strategic leadership with operational management, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and in alignment with organizational goals.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of IT services, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance service performance.
- Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to understand and align services with business needs.
- Develop and manage the release lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating software releases.
- Ensure releases are properly tested, documented, and deployed with minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions and integrations.
- Implement and maintain release management processes, tools, and best practices.
- Monitor release performance and conduct post-release evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with software releases, ensuring stability and minimal disruption to production environments.
- Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies for release management, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization.
- Communicate release plans, progress, and issues to various stakeholders, including development teams, operations teams, and business users.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of development and operations processes.
- Oversee the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, ensuring best practices are followed from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
- Build and lead a high-performing service delivery and release management team, providing mentorship and professional development.
- Develop and execute strategies to align service delivery and release management with organizational goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation.
- Act as an advocate for a customer-centric approach in all service delivery and release management activities.
- Track key metrics related to release quality, speed, and stability, identifying areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement in the software delivery and release process, based on feedback and best practices.
Education and Experience
- 10 or more years of experience in software configuration management.
- 8 years of experience in IT service delivery, release management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent, preferably in data processing or a related field, from an accredited university or equivalent industry experience.
- Prior management responsibility.
- Prior experience working in organizations developing products for external clients.
- Clarity and conciseness in oral and written communications; demonstrated capability to produce effective presentations for delivery to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills to achieve departmental goals; ability to communicate and work well with others at all levels of the corporation.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
- Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Experience with release management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
