The Product Designer, Lead is responsible for shaping the user experience and visual design of our SaaS product offering for the maritime industry. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative and user-centric designs that enhance operational efficiency and drive sustainable growth. What You Will Do:
- Lead the design process from concept to final implementation, ensuring the product meets user needs and business goals.
- Conduct user research, create personas, and design user flows to optimize the user experience.
- Develop visually appealing and intuitive interfaces that align with the product vision and enhance usability.
- Create prototypes and conduct usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with product strategy.
- Establish and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency across the product.
- Analyze customer feedback and usage data to inform design decisions and improvements.
- Mentor engineering/development team and contribute to a collaborative and innovative design culture.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer science or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing UX/UI design skills.
- Understanding of design principles, user-centered design methodologies, and best practices in UX/UI design.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like InVision or Axure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple project and/or initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.
