General Description
Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct community assessments
- Conduct surveys; interviews
- Data collection
- Analyze data
- Develop comprehensive policies and procedures
- Lead preparer of grant reports as required by funding agency
- Diligently pursues project aims as aligned in project proposal
- Will meet regularly with the Director of Education and other grant staff to provide updates.
- Plan and implement evidence-based programs
- Evaluate program methodology
- Acts as a liaison and resource to the tribal community, organizations, and partnerships.
- Explore local prevention resources
- Coordinate the development, production, ordering and dissemination of educational materials and promotional items.
- Host and collaborate prevention/awareness/outreach activities and events.
- Maintains and retains project data and materials as required
- Ensures integrity of project
- Travel to meet grant requirements
- Manages portions of project budget
- Potential to oversee project staff
- Assures that expenses incurred are allowable, reasonable, and allocable to the project to which they are charged
- Attend all related meeting and trainings.
- Must adhere to Absentee Shawnee Tribe Personnel Policies and Drug and Alcohol Policies
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; preferably with at least two-years of experience with a tribal grant unit or cross-agency experience with a community-based project. Masters preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in grants management, public speaking, group facilitation, training, prevention program development, prevention evaluation, strategic planning, and implementation, and data compilation.
- Understand principles, practices and techniques of grant project planning, development, evaluation, procedures of budget preparation and monitoring, and contracted services.
- Immediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Culturally sensitive.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to pass a drug test for pre-employment for the Tribe
- Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
- Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
- Willing to travel.
- Frequent lifting (up to 15 lbs)
- Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
