General Description
This position is located in the buildings and grounds of the Absentee Shawnee Health Clinic in the Community of Little Axe. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Security Guard for the buildings and grounds of the Little Axe Health Center and ensure the safety and security of its occupants. May be required to cross-over at Shawnee Campus.
Responsibilities & Duties
Controls personnel access by monitoring the identification of individuals entering, controlled areas; refers person who lack proper credentials to a control point to arrange access.
Coordinates emergency responses with police officers, fire and other emergency units.
Directs vehicular and pedestrian traffic control during disaster events and drills.
Performs foot and/or vehicle patrol checking alarms, locks, fences, gates, etc.
Prepares reports describing events as they happened includes maintaining an activity log to document shift activity.
Subdues individuals causing disturbances.
May be required to direct traffic, maintain roadblocks, block off areas and parking lots for special occasions, or as a measure of traffic control.
Flexibility is open to change and new information; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
Integrity/Honesty- Behaves in an honest, fair, and ethical manner. Shows consistency in words and actions. Models high standards of ethics.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate or GED Equivalent.
Must be 21 years of age and must be C.L.E.E.T. armed certified or be willing to get certified within the first year of employment.
Experience such as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided knowledge of protective systems and techniques. For Security Guard positions in a hospital setting, experience as a psychiatric nursing assistant or a similar position safeguarding patients is qualifying.
A character investigation may be conducted on applicants selected for employment. The purpose of such an investigation is to secure evidence of the candidate’s honesty, integrity and general character.
This position requires moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or duties of a hazardous nature. The following medical requirements apply to all applicants: good near and distant vision, ability to distinguish basic colors, and ability to hear the conversational voice.

Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend or kneel for long periods of time.

The job involves lengthy periods of walking, standing and operating a motor vehicle. The incumbent climbs stairs and ladders, stoops, climbs or reaches into or under spaces and runs short distances during emergency or pursuit actions. The incumbent pursues, subdues and hold criminal suspects. The incumbent is required to team-lift humans onto wheelchair, stretcher and/or exam table.
