Job Description:
The Nursing Supervisor plays a vital role in promoting patient health by overseeing the day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with RNs to ensure the best possible functions of assigned units and supervise unit employees.
- Assist the Director of Nursing in directing, coordinating, and supervising the Nursing Services Department.
- Scheduling and assigning nursing staff as needed for the department.
- Maintain standards of nursing care and practices within the facility to meet the needs of residents and their families.
- Support nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed at all times while making suggestions for improvements.
Requirements:
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York required.
- A minimum of 1-year RN experience required.
- Must have strong assessment skills as well as interpersonal skills.
- Education or experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing is preferred.
- Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable.
- Strong customer service skills and compassion.
- Basic computer knowledge, PCC e-MAR experience preferred.
- Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
