Description : Job Summary :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations. This role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and a strong understanding of payroll procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain and update payroll records, including employee details, hours worked, deductions, and bonuses.
Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies.
Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions according to company policies and labor laws.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposit payments.
Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
Assist with tax filings, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related processes.
Generate payroll reports and provide support for audits and financial reporting.
Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information.
Requirements :
Qualifications & Skills :
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience in payroll processing or a similar role is a plus.
Familiarity with payroll software, preferably Paylocity.
Strong mathematical and data entry skills.
Knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Working Conditions :
Office environment with standard office equipment.
Occasional extended hours or shifts may be required based on business needs.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
