Job Summary
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to increase awareness and drive referrals for mental health, addiction, and behavioral healthcare services at Absolute Awakenings Treatment Center in New Jersey. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and referral sources to ensure individuals struggling with addiction and mental health challenges receive the care they need. The ideal candidate will be passionate about connecting individuals to life-changing treatment and promoting community education on behavioral health topics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to increase referrals and admissions for mental health and addiction treatment services.
- Establish relationships with therapists, addiction specialists, healthcare providers, hospitals, judicial systems, first responders, and community organizations.
- Conduct community education programs and professional presentations to increase awareness of treatment services.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and clinical team to ensure positive client experiences and strong referral relationships.
- Implement relationship-building strategies with key referral sources and track their engagement.
- Represent Absolute Awakenings at conferences, networking events, and community meetings related to mental health and addiction recovery.
- Monitor outreach efforts, analyze referral data, and adjust strategies to maximize effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality laws, and ethical marketing practices.
- Assist in special projects and marketing initiatives as directed by the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
Requirements
- Education: Associate’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Healthcare, Behavioral Health, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in community outreach, business development, public relations, sales, or mental health and addiction treatment services.
- Skills:
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities within the behavioral healthcare industry
- Knowledge of mental health, addiction treatment, and referral development best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Joint Commission Standards, HIPAA compliance, and Drug-Free Workplace policies
- Proficiency in CRM software and data-driven outreach strategies (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and travel locally for networking and outreach efforts
