Job Title: CAD Tech-Project Engineer

As a CAD Technician, you will be instrumental in estimating bids by producing precise and detailed construction drawings and models. Your proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting will greatly contribute to the successful preparation of bids and improve the overall efficiency of our construction projects.
Essential Responsibilities
- Utilize CAD software to produce accurate 2D construction drawings, plans, and models based on project specifications and design intent
- Work closely with Sales, Estimating, and Project Management teams to understand project scope, timelines, and requirements
- Prepare precise quantity takeoffs and material lists based on the construction drawings, ensuring alignment with project budgets and schedules
- Review, revise, and update drawings as needed, based on feedback from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest changes
- Ensure timely coordination with other internal teams to gather the necessary information for drawing creation and revision
- Effectively communicate with project stakeholders to resolve any design-related queries, issues, or conflicts
- Work with subcontractors and suppliers to collect relevant design information and incorporate it into the construction drawings
- Conduct thorough checks and reviews of construction drawings to ensure accuracy, adherence to standards, and compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical assistance to the Sales and Estimating teams regarding drawing-related inquiries or challenges
- Stay current with advancements in CAD software and techniques and continuously improve skills and knowledge to enhance the quality of designs and workflow processes
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other project-related discussions as necessary to gain insights and provide design support
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software for 2D design preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot and resolve design conflicts or discrepancies
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Prior experience in construction design, drafting, or a related field is required
- Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Can fluently speak, read, and write English
- A valid driver's license is required
