Job Summary:
As a Patient Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for both new and existing patients, playing a key role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience throughout their time with us.It's your responsibility to warmly greet patients and ensure they feel at ease during both check-in and check-out. This role requires someone who is friendly, energetic, positive, and attentive, with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a focus on providing outstanding patient interactions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, confirm appointments, and obtain proper documentation from each patient for their visit.
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars for multiple providers
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document preparation
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues or escalate them to the appropriate Supervisor/Coordinator/Practice Manager
- Make sure to accurately collect and verify patient information, including, but not limited to, demographic details, insurance coverage, etc.
- Ensure that the collection of copays, payments on account, etc. from every patient, in which it is needed.
- Effectively communicate and provide assistance to patients via phone, in person, Klara, etc.
- Adheres to Absolute Dermatology’s policies and procedures, and its code of ethics and complies with HIPAA, OSHA, and all federal and state rules and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a front desk receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- At least 1 year of patient service experience is required
- Previous experience verifying insurance is required
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs at times
