What are the responsibilities and job description for the CBRF Resident Caregiver Position position at Absolute Home Care LLC?
We are in search of an experienced and compassionate Resident Caregiver who understands the importance of meeting the needs of clients while helping them maintain a high quality of life. We are looking for a committed individual who has impeccable communication skills and is able to problem solve on the spot. Our Caregivers have a reputation for being cheerful and receptive as they administer care to our clients, and we are seeking someone who would be a great fit with our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice and individuality of residents.
- Assist in ADLs and IDLs to each resident as indicated in their Care Plan.
- Reviews resident Care Plans daily for any changes.
- Ensure the health, safety and well-being of each resident
- Provide medication management & administer medications as indicated in the medication administration report.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, comfortable and safe environment by providing housekeeping services.
- Comply with all documentation and record keeping requirements
- Assist with individual and group social/recreational activities as well as encouraging resident participation in activities
- Transporting and/or accompanying residents to and from appointments, outings, day program, etc.
- Must be CBRF certified & have the 4 required certifications on the Wisconsin CBRF Training Registry (no paper certifications will be accepted for Medication Administration, First Aid & Choking, Fire Safety & Standard Precautions)
- Documentation of Free from communicable disease including Tuberculosis (TB) test/screen done by a medical professional within 90 days of hire
- At least 18 years of age & have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle & vehicle insurance (PREFERRED)
- Experience and knowledge working with residents who have mental illness, chronic and acute conditions
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision as well in a team setting
- Caring, compassionate and dependable
- Must have effective communication skills
- Ability to occasionally lift 20 pounds, bend, twist, reach, stand, and walk on an ongoing basis
- Freedom from the use and effects of use of drugs in the workplace
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must pass the Department of Health Services background check
