The Opportunity

Absolute Machining LLC is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations and ensure accurate financial reporting for our growing company. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, financial planning, and reporting to drive profitability, efficiency, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and capable of optimizing financial processes while working closely with leadership. This is a Full-Time Position with a requirement to commute or relocate to Fort Wayne, IN.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

 Accounts Payable & Receivable

·     Process all vendor invoices and credit card charges, ensuring accuracy and proper classification.

·     Oversee customer payments, deposits, and maintain accurate transaction records.

·     Monitor and reconcile accounts to vendor and customer statements.

·     Approve and process ACH, check, and EFT payments.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

·     Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for company leadership.

·     Develop budgeting and forecasting models to support strategic planning.

·     Track and analyze financial performance, providing recommendations for process improvement.

·     Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

Payroll & Compensation Administration

·     Process payroll weekly, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.

·     Maintain employee payroll records, process PTO, absences, garnishments, and deductions.

·     Manage 401(k) contributions, profit-sharing distributions, and bonuses.

Cash Flow & Asset Management

·     Track financing activities, fixed assets, and capital expenditures.

·     Monitor and improve cash flow management strategies.

·     Maintain relationships with financial institutions and vendors to optimize payment terms and credit lines.

 Tax & Compliance

·     Prepare and submit required tax filings, K-1s, and 1099s.

·     Work with external CPA firms for tax planning and compliance.

·     Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and GAAP compliance.

Operational & Business Support

Inventory & Cost Control

·     Collaborate with Sales and Management to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.

·     Evaluate costing strategies and pricing structures to ensure profitability.

·     Implement and maintain financial controls over purchasing and procurement.

·      Vendor & Customer Financial Relations

·     Negotiate favorable payment terms with vendors and suppliers.

·     Assess creditworthiness of new customers and establish credit terms.

·     Handle W-9 and tax document requests from vendors and clients.

Technology & System Oversight

·     Utilize QuickBooks, Netsuite and Microsoft Office Suite for financial operations.

·     Manage financial software and reporting tools to increase efficiency.

·     Work with IT contractors to ensure financial system security and integration.

Qualifications and Skills

·     Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred.

·     5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in manufacturing.

·     Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.

·     Experience with QuickBooks, ADP, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

·     Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights.

·     Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and process improvement.

·     Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

·     Self-motivated and consistent, dependable.

·     Ability to provide and receive valuable input.

·     Strong team player with the ability to effectively interact with all business units.

·     Ability to take initiative and anticipate obstacles and developments.

·     Proactive and decisive contributor who can effectively execute responsibilities.
