Absolute Staffers LLC is seeking a skilled and reliable Pharmacy Technician to join our team for placement at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Danbury in Danbury, CT. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately read and interpret prescriptions and medication orders issued by medical staff.
- Select, prepare, and label medications for pharmacist review and dispensing.
- Manage pharmacy inventory including restocking, tracking expiration dates, and processing supply orders.
- Maintain compliance with Bureau of Prisons (BOP) regulations and formulary.
- Assist in administrative duties such as logging and organizing medication records.
- Support pharmacist in preparing reports and patient education materials.
- Ensure safe and secure handling of all medications within the correctional setting.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a clinical, hospital, or correctional facility setting.
- Experience working with adult patients and managing controlled substances preferred.
Qualifications
- Completion of a state-approved Pharmacy Technician training program.
- Active Pharmacy Technician Registration in the state of Connecticut.
- CPR Certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive federal background check, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
Schedule & Benefits
- Work Hours: Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Paid Time Off (up to 80 hours annually)
