Opportunity: Citadel Roofing & Solar is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Solar Business Development Manager to drive growth in the California market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy sales and a proven track record of developing new business opportunities with commercial and multifamily building owners. Target project sizes should range between 100kW-1MW .
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new sales leads for commercial and multifamily solar projects throughout California
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including property owners, developers, and decision-makers
- Create and present compelling solar proposals and financial benefit summaries to potential clients
- Conduct site evaluations and work with the technical team to develop customized solar solutions
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure
- Analyze market trends and identify new business development opportunities in the commercial solar sector
- Collaborate with internal teams, including estimating and project management, to ensure smooth project execution
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus
- 5 years of experience in solar energy sales or business development, with a focus on commercial projects
- Strong understanding of solar PV technology, project financing, and relevant regulations in California
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Experience with CRM software, Helioscope, and Energy Toolbase; proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel throughout California as needed
- Proactive and integrity driven
- Knowledge of commercial solar equipment and solutions: panels, racking, inverters, and batteries
- Knowledge of all system types: roof mount, ground mount, carports, etc
