What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Protection Service Sprinkler Technician / Installer position at Abstrakt Marketing Group LLC?
This is a full-time, direct placement role at TP Mechanical.
Position Summary: Responsible for daily work. Work includes repair and installation of fire protection sprinkler systems. Applicant should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other persons on the job-site, including our sub-contractors, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner. Applicant should also be able to accept direction and/or lead and delegate the work if necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. New and existing sprinkler installations, relocations and repairs including- pumps, branch lines, heads, standpipe, feed mains, risers, Wet, Dry, Pre-action, Hydrants and underground piping.
2. Follows up with customers for quality assurance purposes and ensures customers are 100% satisfied.
3. Can work independently with little direction and can solve problems (i.e., contacting factory, engineer, architect, owner, etc.).
4. Attends, all job site and office meetings related to assigned projects. Is well prepared to handle issues that may come up. Fills out all forms, revisions, requests for tools/equipment/material that are required for each project.
5. Dependable and able to work in emergency situations when called.
6. Has the ability to identify and locate parts/suppliers.
7. Troubleshoot, and repair associated equipment
8. All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:1. Experience/Qualifications Required:
- 5-7 years commercial experience in the fire protection industry.
- Installations, Inspections, Testing, Maintaining.
- Stable work history.
- State Fire Protection Certification/License(s) (Must have sprinkler / stand pipe)
- Ohio Backflow Certification (is a plus)
2. Job Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of operations of fire protection systems.
- Ability to place alarm systems in test / bypass
- Strong knowledge of building and NFPA Codes
- Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
- Able to install, repair and replace equipment.
- Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills including daily e-mails, on-line inspection reports, Excel & PDFs, Etc.
3. Education:
- High School or GED Equivalent
- OSHA 10 or 30
- Trade School or Apprenticeship a plus
4. Physical Requirements:
- Eyesight correctable to 20/50
- Able to work long hours on feet.
- Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds
- Able to perform shift work
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Able to work from heights above 20ft.
5. Special Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must provide their own basic hand tools
