What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Installer/Field Foreman position at Abstrakt Marketing Group LLC?
This is a full-time, direct placement for a local mechanical contractor.
We are a full-service commercial and residential heating, ventilation, air conditioning service contractor providing our clients with exceptional customer service, innovative and proven solutions, with knowledgeable and experienced staff. Our core business is comprehensive maintenance services, system diagnostics and repairs, and mechanical projects.
Primary Functions: Install, retrofit, and replace HVAC and related equipment, components and duct work as assigned in a timely, high-quality manner.
Technical Knowledge:
- Keep technical knowledge up to date re: equipment, concepts, and installation techniques, as well as local, state, and federal codes.
- Participate in continuing education to keep technical knowledge up-to-date pertaining to equipment and concepts.
- Know and understand all state and local codes (must have journeyman’s card).
- Know and understand complete installation of equipment.
- Able to draw and fabricate any sheet metal fitting required on a job.
- Able to be proactive in determination of the materials and equipment required to keep crews productive.
- Advise Project Superintendent/Project Manager of the progress of each job daily.
- Maintain safe working conditions and follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of job site daily.
- Adhere to quality workmanship standards for all jobs.
- Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance and be courteous to all our customers.
- Knowledge of how to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
- Knowledge of applicable manuals, new products, and current techniques.
- Participate in technical organizations to improve technical knowledge.
- Able to perform installation of a broad spectrum of HVAC related equipment.
- Implement cost effective solution to installation problems.
- Keep customer and Project Supervisor/Project Manager informed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a good attitude.
- Attend all training sessions.
Customer Relations:
- Inform customers when arriving at or leaving the job and when planning to return.
- Explore a customer complaint to determine the actual issues.
- React to customer complaints with the proper amount of sympathy and empathy.
- Able to communicate with the customer tactfully.
- Recognize that they are in sales and the company’s reputation is built on their performance.
Time Management/Planning:
- Demonstrate ability to accurately determine priorities by:
- adhering to planned schedule.
- scheduling report time concurrent with jobs.
- handling interruptions in stride.
- having the proper tools and materials when arriving at the job site.
- scheduling maintenance on assigned company vehicle (if applicable).
- Able to plan project requirements and inform supervisor when work needs to be completed
Communication:
- Promptly and accurately complete all required paperwork.
- Keep Project Manager informed of unfavorable news and disenchantment by customers.
Special Projects:
Provide support for any special projects as assigned by the manager. These special projects, at the determination of the manager, may or may not become part of this position’s primary responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:- 5 years of commercial/residential HVAC installation
- Ability to lift, on occasion, up to 125 lbs.
- Ability to lift, routinely, up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work overhead and from ladders, lifting equipment and scaffolds.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time completely exposed to the elements.
- Ability to work in high positions, over 4 feet from the ground, for extended periods.
