Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for generating new business, managing existing accounts, and selling our CNC machining and fabrication services to customers across a variety of industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outside sales, with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead Generation and Prospecting :

Identify and target potential clients within relevant industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical, industrial) by using a variety of prospecting techniques, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events and trade shows. Use an outside firm to feed pre-qualified leads, but will need to enhance that with regional cold calling when necessary.

  • Sales Presentations and Product Knowledge :
  • Present the company's CNC machining and fabrication capabilities to potential clients. Provide detailed explanations of services, processes, and products, tailoring the pitch to meet the specific needs of each customer.

  • Customer Relationship Management :
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships. Understand the unique needs of each client and act as the main point of contact throughout the sales process, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Proposal and Quotation Preparation :
  • Quotations will be prepared be an internal team. Sales person will need to collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to prepare accurate proposals, quotes, and project estimates for clients. Ensure pricing is competitive while maintaining company profitability. Sales is primarily responsible on following up to close.

  • Sales Process Management :
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification to closing and post-sales follow-up. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales progress, and revenue forecasting in the CRM system.

  • Solution Selling :
  • Work closely with clients to understand their challenges and provide tailored CNC machining and fabrication solutions. Effectively communicate how our products and services can solve their manufacturing needs.

  • Market Research and Competitor Analysis :
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, competitors, and new technological advancements in CNC machining and fabrication. Leverage this information to adjust sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Collaboration with Internal Teams :
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer service teams to ensure smooth execution of projects and timely delivery of products to clients.

    Compensation and Benefits :

  • Base Salary : Competitive, commensurate with experience.
  • Commission : Performance-based commissions based on sales.
  • Benefits : 3 weeks PTO to start with eligibility up to 4-weeks based on performance. Additional 70 hours of holiday PTO. Health, dental, and vision insurance; retirement plan; paid time off; and other employee benefits.
  • Company Car / Travel Reimbursement : Company Car or reimbursement for personal car will be provided.

    Requirements

  • Experience :
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in outside sales, preferably in B2B sales or contract manufacturing (CNC machining, fabrication, or related industries).

  • Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Technical Knowledge :
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining, fabrication processes, and materials commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., metals, plastics).

  • Ability to discuss technical details and make complex concepts understandable to non-technical clients.
  • Sales Skills :
  • Expertise in lead generation, prospecting, and sales cycle management.

  • Strong negotiation, closing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a sales-driven environment.
  • Communication Skills :
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively to customers, both in-person and through digital platforms.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities :
  • Creative and strategic thinking to identify client needs and propose tailored solutions.

  • Ability to adapt and find solutions in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • CRM Proficiency :
  • Proficient in using CRM software (Ashland currently using HubSpot) for tracking leads, sales, and customer interactions.

  • Education :
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

    Desired Skills and Attributes :

  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn quickly about new processes and products.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally as required for client meetings and industry events.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on meeting sales quotas and targets.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, positive attitude.
