Job Title: HVAC Estimator Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled HVAC Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong willingness to learn HVAC systems, as well as expertise in project estimating, sales, and project management. You will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for HVAC projects, coordinating the duct take-off process, managing permit applications, and working closely with project managers, sales teams, and contractors to ensure that projects meet budget and scheduling requirements. The HVAC Estimator will also contribute to the preparation of submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information). This person will report directly to the owner of the business learning the following crucial skills.

What You Will Learn
- Perform HVAC estimating and prepare accurate and detailed project bids.
- Execute duct take-offs and ensure accuracy in material and labor requirements.
- Assist in permit pulling to ensure all necessary permits are obtained for HVAC installations.
- Provide sales support for HVAC equipment sales and recommendations to clients.
- Conduct load calculations to ensure HVAC systems are correctly sized for the space they will serve.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, their components, and installation methods.
- Detail-oriented and able to perform accurate estimating and take-offs.
- Knowledge of load calculations for proper HVAC system design and sizing.
- Issue purchase orders (POs) for necessary materials and equipment.
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF for document creation, analysis, and organization.
- Create project budgets and monitor costs throughout project life cycles.
- Prepare and manage submittals and shop drawings for client approval.
- Process and manage change orders and Requests for Information (RFIs) throughout the project to address scope changes and clarifications.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of HVAC projects run smoothly from estimate to completion.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with project budgeting and cost management.
- Ability to create and manage submittals and shop drawings for system approvals.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues.
- This role may require travel to job sites for site evaluations and project meetings.
- A background in mechanical systems and construction management is highly preferred.
