What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packager position at Abstrax Tech, Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY - PM Shift (2:30PM to 11:00PM) Only
The Abstrax Packager must ensure manufactured items are ready for shipment by placing them into containers, weighing, sealing, labeling, and recording information about each package or item prior to preparing the items for transport. Packagers must be thorough and ensure each container is securely sealed and packages are placed in the correct location, loading zone, or into inventory. The ideal candidate must be able to use hand tools, adhesives, padding, and other products to protect the item. Packagers must keep a clean work area and observe all company safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Pack, weigh, and label completed items for shipment or storage.
- Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging.
- Identify and dispose of defective items.
- Inspecting packages to ensure they are not damaged.
- Inspect shipping containers to ensure they meet shipping regulations.
- Assembling daily orders by shipping location or any other shipping categories.
- Keeping records of packages including delivery notes, invoices, etc.
- Fill out packing and order forms with the relevant shipping information.
- Seal shipping containers and label them appropriately.
- Clean shipping containers and other shipping supplies.
- Properly use packaging materials, including hand tools, glues, nails, padding, etc.
- Keep complete records of all materials that processed through the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in manufacturing or related field is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment for long hours
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Able to lift, carry and move up to 25 pounds regularly.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

- Successfully complete a background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
