The Opportunity 

As Vice President Controller and Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for leading Abt’s corporate accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, international accounting, revenue recognition, consolidations, government accounting compliance, accounts receivable and payable, treasury, tax, and corporate insurance and risk management. As Abt continues to grow you will have opportunities to lead and drive progress in our financial transformation through process improvement, system implementation, and capital restructuring projects.  Working under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial and management reports and procedures, and the presentation of findings and specific recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors. To successfully develop a best in class Controllership function, you will continually create, develop, and coach your team and act as a strong collaborative partnership across the global organization. 

Core Responsibilities 

• Direct and lead accounting teams around the globe in the oversight, development, and implementation of company-wide accounting policies and controls consistent with US GAAP and FAR compliance
• Closing the Books: plan and direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual external and internal financial close and reporting processes, ensuring that an effective system is in place. Manage annual external audit and tax filings for both US and International locations. Act as primary point of contact for auditors
• Provide ongoing review and updates of the accounting systems and procedures to ensure that all balance sheets accounts in all lines of business are fully reconciled and explainable
• Oversee working capital ensuring accounts receivable and accounts payable is operating efficiently to meet business needs, as well as legal entity transaction flows
• Set appropriate standards for quality and efficiency of financial reporting processes to the CEO and CFO
• Partner with IT and system owners to set and execute vision for General Ledger and ERP systems, including serving as the champion and business process owner of Abt’s financial transformation capital project
• Continuously improve processes related to tax, entity management, treasury, accounting operations, accounts payable and receivable. 

What We Value

• Bachelor’s Degree 15 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree 12 years of relevant experience
• CPA certification required, MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of accounting and controls experience in a global company environment
• Deep understanding of government accounting contracting 
• Strong FASB and GAAP knowledge
• ESOP experience preferred
• A strong history of focus on disciplined legal entity accounting
• Experience presenting to Board of Director committees is preferred
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills that have effectively delegate work to the right level and developed team members 
• Demonstrated experience with finance ERP implementation
• Knowledge and application of capital restructuring

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $215,000 to $330,000, and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.  Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
