The Opportunity
The Ethics, Compliance, Risk & Assurance (ECRA) department supports Abt’s achievement of its global strategy and mission by facilitating and championing ethics, compliance, risk, and assurance in all parts of the business, projects, and programs. Reporting to the Global Compliance Lead, the Compliance Specialist contributes to the company’s compliance maturity and processes across the following key areas:
- Business partner with key stakeholders to develop, implement, monitor and continuously improve policies, procedures and processes, and support development and maintenance of pragmatic program operations manuals to ensure project compliance
- undertake quality assurance (QA) of compliance documentation.
The Compliance Specialist will maintain high customer service standards with all key internal stakeholders.
Project and Corporate Compliance
- Business partner with key stakeholders to develop, implement, monitor and continuously improve policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and company requirements,
- Support Abt Australia and Abt Britain’s Program Delivery and in-country program teams in the development and maintenance of pragmatic program operations manuals in accordance with client contract requirements
Global Quality Management System
- Support the Global Compliance Lead to foster a mature compliance culture and proactive compliance management across Abt by completing detailed reviews of compliance material across Abt to inform compliance workplan and ongoing assessment of compliance maturity.
- Support the Global Compliance Lead with Abt Australia and Abt Britain’s quality management system certification and accreditation for ISO 9001.
- Conduct a thorough quality assurance (QA) check of compliance documentation that is submitted for QA through the Global Quality Management System (GQMS).
- Provide advice and support to staff regarding the GQMS and Abt’s compliance standards.
- Provide troubleshooting support to users of the GQMS, including delivering training regarding the GQMS and compliance framework as directed.
- Provide GQMS administration support as needed, including contributing to testing of bugs and enhancements, supporting with development and maintenance of user guides, and supporting the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
General
- Trusted adviser for general GQMS and compliance queries from Abt Australia and Abt Britain stakeholders
- Support the Global Compliance Lead with global compliance initiatives as needed
- Other reasonable duties as directed
What We Value
- 3 – 5 years relevant experience mandatory (minimum 3 years experience developing policies and procedures, preferably recent)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Proficient to advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Self-motivated team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Please note that if you are shortlisted, you will be requested to provide examples of previous work and/or complete a task to demonstrate your proficiency in writing policies and procedures)
