Team Member - Produce (Part-Time)

Position Title: Team Member - Produce Department

Status: Part-Time, non-exempt hourly

Average Weekly Hours: 25-32

Availability: Weekdays and Weekends, rotating days. Mornings / Evenings

Reports to: Produce Manager

Job Purpose: The Produce Team Member provides excellent customer service, builds well-stocked displays of high-quality products in the produce department (fruits, vegetables, herbs, etc.), assists in placing orders, receiving deliveries, unloading freight, and maintaining cleanliness of the department.

**IMPORTANT** --> Availability Requirements & Schedule: Shift length and time will vary. The schedule will be discussed during the interview process. Please do not apply if you do not have somewhat flexible availability and are unable to commit to consistently working scheduled weekly shifts.

*Time off requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to manager/ HR approval.*

Our current hours of operation are Sunday-Saturday 8am-8:30pm. Beginning on Sunday, March 9th, we will be open until 9:00pm.

Actual starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, KSAs (knowledge, skills, abilities), market data, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responds and attends to customer requests in the produce department and throughout the store.
• Responsible for various duties including keeping displays fully stocked, properly rotated and in good quality, keeping accurate records for shrinks, transfers and invoices, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and upholding communication within the department.
• Following proper food handling procedures.
• Has knowledge of organic and natural foods, primarily fruits/vegetables/herbs/etc.
• Receives deliveries, checking for quality and premature expiration (i.e. spoiled product, etc).
• Properly rotate product to minimize spoiled product.
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule: some daytime and evening hours, weekends, and some holidays.

Required Qualifications:

• 6 months to 1 year of experience working in a produce department
• 6 months to 1 year or more of customer service experience OR;
• 6 months to 1 year or more of unloading and stocking experience
• Experience working in a grocery / retail store setting highly desired
• High School/GED or associate's degree preferred
