What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Coordinator position at Abundant Life Church?
The position of Preschool Coordinator at the Lee's Summit Campus shepherds’ preschoolers and their families, sets up preschool curriculum for the campus, coordinates volunteers schedule, manages resources and assists with administrative duties related to the Early Years Ministry within the overall Children’s Ministry at Abundant Life. This position specifically works with children ages 3-5 years old. The work is to be done in alignment with the mission of seeing lives changed by Jesus.

- Participate in an Abundant Life group (Acts 2:41-42) as well as the discipleship ministry (Matthew 28:18-20).
- Live in a way that glorifies God and aligns with the staff core values (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).
- Be committed to giving to the needs of the saints (2 Corinthians 8:1-7 & 9:12).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Shepherd the preschool volunteers by getting to know them, praying for them, encouraging them and investing in their lives.
- Shepherd the families of 3–5-year-olds by warmly greeting them, learning their names, being prepared to answer questions and assist them.
- Shepherd the 3–5-year-olds by celebrating their birthdays, key milestones, spiritual development, etc. This includes caring for them, praying for them each week and teaching them about Jesus.
- Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude with the parents and the children, addressing parents' concerns with sincerity, kindness, and grace.
- Constantly identify, recruit, onboard and train new volunteers.
- Foster a culture of volunteer development, raising up the next level of leaders to raise our standard of excellence.
- Encourage and develop teen volunteers to grow into strong serve leaders.
- Responsible for setting up new volunteers in the ROCK database, Planner Center (scheduling system) and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensure we are always background check compliant.
- Responsible for scheduling weekly volunteers in classrooms for children ages 3-5-year-olds.
- Assist with ParentServe scheduling and recruiting as needed.
- Assist with curriculum distribution for Early Years at campus.
- Coordinate curricula take home projects for volunteers to prep, as needed.
- Fill in for volunteers when needed.
- Maintain appropriate adult to child ratios at all times.
- Maintain all policies and procedures at all times.
- Keep classrooms looking neat, clean, and organized.
- Responsible for consistent communication to all Early Years Preschool volunteers, e.g., emails, text messages, phone calls, etc.
- Attend quarterly Children’s Ministry volunteer trainings, weekly Children’s Ministry meetings and all staff training meetings.
- Assist with event planning for Fifth Sunday’s, VBS, quarterly volunteer trainings, Birthday Celebration, Hey Guy, and other programs.
- Enforce a safe and secure environment.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Education/Experience
- Ministry and children’s education experience is preferred but not required.
