Youth Pastor

Summary of Position
The Youth Pastor serves Abundant Life Church, focusing on overseeing the church’s youth ministry. This role is central to fostering spiritual growth, cultivating meaningful relationships, and creating opportunities for students to engage within the church community. It supports students in their faith journey through relationship building, dynamic programming, and community involvement. The position aims to integrate these elements seamlessly with the church's mission to bring hope and healing to transform generations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, train, and develop adult volunteers and student ministry leaders.
• Build a culture of leadership and ownership within the youth ministry.
• Oversee onboarding processes for youth leaders, ensuring alignment with the ministry’s vision.

Youth Ministry Oversight

• Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings that combine worship, preaching/teaching, games, and small group discussions.
• Organize and promote youth events, retreats, and outreach opportunities with sufficient lead time to build excitement and engagement.
• Preach and teach biblically sound, relevant messages that challenge students to grow spiritually and encounter God personally.
• Implement strategies to integrate students into the life of the church, encouraging participation in Sunday worship services and opportunities to serve.

Vision & Collaboration

• Align all youth ministry and school discipleship efforts with the church’s theology, core values, and vision — 'Bringing Christ’s hope and healing to transform generations' — to foster a Christ-centered foundation for students.
• Collaborate with leadership to evaluate and implement fresh, creative approaches to ministry.
• Foster an environment where students and families feel welcomed, valued, and inspired to grow in their faith.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Oversee the youth ministry budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.
• Maintain ministry calendar for youth events.
• Regularly evaluate and refine ministry strategies to align with the church's vision.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Youth Ministry Leaders (Adult Volunteers and Student Leaders)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading youth ministry and discipleship initiatives with a track record of team building and spiritual growth.
• Ability to teach engaging, biblically based messages for youth and school settings, with periodic opportunities to preach or share in Sunday services to the entire church.
• Strong organizational, relational, and team-building skills.
• Ability to develop and implement innovative ministry strategies.
• Proven ability to connect with youth, families, and students.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week

• Youth Ministry: 1 year (Preferred)
