ABW Technologies has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer. As a member of our team the ideal candidate will design and test all aspects of mechanical equipment by performing the following functions. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyzes research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal.
Confers with research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal.
Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype products or system. Plans and develops experimental test programs.
Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
Confers with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
Certifies design and stress calculations meet code requirements.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training in the metal fabrication industry.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge/ability using Catia, SolidWorks Design Software; Microsoft Project Management software; Microsoft spreadsheet software and Microsoft word processing software.
