Manufacturing Engineer

Puget Sound Coatings (PSC) is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to enhance efficiency within our satellite coating programs. This role is integral to optimizing shop floor processes, ensuring streamlined production, and solving complex manufacturing challenges in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the President, Production Manager, and Program Manager to drive operational excellence and improve throughput.

Key Responsibilities 

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes related to satellite coating operations.
• Develop and implement efficiency improvements, reducing waste and increasing throughput.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and program management, to optimize workflow.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, ensuring timely project completion.
• Utilize lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance process reliability 
• Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure repeatable and high-quality outcomes.
• Work with shop floor personnel to troubleshoot and refine manufacturing techniques.
• Assist in evaluating and integrating automation and technology solutions to improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with quality and industry standards, particularly within aerospace coatings.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role, preferably within aerospace or coatings.
• Strong background in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with coatings, aerospace components, or related industries is a plus.
• Proficiency in CAD software, process simulation tools, and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working across departments.
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with ISO and AS9100 quality systems is a plus.
