Summary:
The Rewind Operator is responsible for removing defects from completed slit rolls of laminated material.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operation of rewind machines
- Identify splices and flag defects
- Remove defects from slit rolls, such as creases or washboarding
- Perform butt splices in register
- Combine small rolls of slit material
- Pack rolls and place cores in rolls
- Complete documentation in an accurate manner
- Maintain housekeeping standards of production equipment and surrounding area
- Perform core cutting as required
- Transfer material using hand truck
- Follow SQF guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Must be able to stand 6-9 hours
- Must be able to bend, twist, squat, reach vertically 3- hours
- Must be able to walk/stand on concrete surface 6-9 hours
- Must be able to properly use a hoist
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds from pallet to chest high
