Mission of Role/Position Summary:
Be part of a team of knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful allies for our clients. AC Disaster Consulting is seeking Liaisons to assist those residing in non-congregate shelters who were affected by a natural disaster in the Frankfurt, KY area. The team will play an integral part of helping citizens and communities recover from natural disasters. Applicants should be passionate about making a difference in the world, and interested in supporting local, state, and federal jurisdictions recover from disasters.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

- Assist with assigned projects.
- Ensure process adherence is followed in line with client and AC Disaster policies and procedures.
- Liaise and guide non-congregate shelter clients to assist with assessing their living situations and immediate needs.
- Support project management in assigned debris area.
- Identify potential impacts and implications of sheltering situations, and provide briefings as required to appropriate partners.
- Conducts meetings and briefings with applicants related to sheltering issues.
- Conduct and address any inconsistencies, special considerations, or compliance issues.
- Develop, maintain, and implement plans and procedures associated with effective and efficient program delivery.
- Participate in deployment teams to assist clients in emergency situations and/or activations.
- Pursue trainings, credentials, and development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of FEMA damage assessments and sheltering programs.
- Knowledge of basic home/facilities repair to assess needs and recommend remedies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective and proactive communication with local, state, and federal stakeholders as well as internal team members.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Ability to collaborate and work in partnerships.
- Combined knowledge of disaster response/recovery, and local, state, and federal legislation.
- Proficiency with technology, specifically Microsoft Office 365.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
Expected Hours of Work:
Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends including 7 days per week with 12 hour shifts. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 100% travel is expected for this position.
- Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands:
- Mobility required on-site with clients.
- Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
- Ability to perform essential tasks such as talking, hearing, using hands and fingers for handling or feeling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- Ability to travel to various locations and sites daily if required.
Working Environment:
- Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
- Work in outdoor environment.
- Moderate noise level.
- Travel via automobile on daily basis.
- May require long hours in a variety of weather conditions outside.
Experience/Education Required:
- 1 years of experience with residential, facility, home repair assessment and maintenance.
- 1 years of experience in shelter or emergency management response efforts.
- 1 years of experience providing compassionate customer service.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Education Preferred:
- 3-5 years FEMA disaster response and recovery experience.
- 3-5 years non-congregate shelter participant assistance experience.
- 3 years experience working large disaster recovery projects.
- At least three years of project management experience in the emergency management field.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required.
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
- Valid current driver license with clean driving record and current valid auto insurance meeting minimum state requires are required.
