Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensures shipping employees perform their job responsibilities correctly and safely.
- Supervises and provides direction to shipping employees in the office and cold storage.
- Performs shipping floor duties as needed, including driving a forklift.
- Ensures all finished goods are inspected, loaded correctly, and meets requirements for each country fruit is being shipped to.
- Ensures correct product is loaded on the trucks.
- Ensures all employees comply with company policies.
- Communicates with County and USDA inspectors regarding export/import fruit.
- Coordinates and directs shipping employees to maximize efficiencies and minimize costs.
- Reviews labor costs daily and weekly.
- Oversees all shipping operations during every shift.
- Compares shipment contents with manifest.
- Ensures all safety protocols are followed.
- Determines staffing requirements for busy and off seasons.
- Communicates with County and USDA inspectors.
- Ensures all protocols are followed for exporting and importing Fruit.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Ensures timecards are reviewed and approved properly.
- Partners with safety to promote a positive safety culture.

- Forklift Operator Certification
- Bilingual verbal and written English/Spanish
