The AC Hotel downtown Greenville is seeking an experienced and innovative Head Bartender / Master Mixologist to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for a passionate mixologist who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has an eye for detail, and possesses excellent leadership skills. As our Mixologist, you will be responsible for crafting original beverage menu items and designing new, innovative cocktails by working closely with Beverage Director. You will also be responsible for providing an exceptional guest experience that aligns with our brand values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cocktail Creation & Menu Development:
- Assist in design and development for seasonal and signature cocktail menus that reflect creativity and high-quality ingredients.
- Stay current on cocktail trends, techniques, and industry innovations.
- Collaborate with the Beverage Director and kitchen team for perfect food and beverage pairings.
- Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive list of house-made syrups, infusions, and garnishes.
- Leadership & Staff Management:
- Lead, train, and mentor cocktail server and barback to uphold excellent customer service standards.
- Delegate tasks to ensure the bar operates smoothly during peak times.
- Provide feedback and maintain a positive, motivating environment.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure consistency in drink quality, presentation, and taste, adhering to high standards.
- Assist in inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation to maintain proper bar supplies.
- Monitor cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Customer Service & Engagement:
- Provide an exceptional guest experience by interacting with patrons, recommending cocktails, and personalizing their drink choices.
- Handle customer feedback, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and courtesy.
- Build lasting customer relationships and create a welcoming environment that keeps patrons coming back.
- Operational Oversight:
- Must adhere to state laws regarding alcohol consumption by checking customer identification, serving and selling alcohol responsibly.
- Responsible for keeping the bar well stocked and fully supplied with alcohol, and for filling out inventory forms in order to replace items as needed.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as the kitchen or management, to ensure smooth operations.
- Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5 years) as a bartender, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, and bar techniques.
- Expertise in creating original drink recipes, including infusions, syrups, and garnishes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on team collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure, managing both staff and customer expectations.
- TIPS or similar alcohol training certification (preferred).
- Passion for mixology, continuous learning, and providing a top-tier guest experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
