Overview

The Restaurant Porter is responsible for helping the bartender in the daily operation of the bar, in addition for ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests while maintaining the highest standards of service. This role supports the service team by expediting orders, assisting with table maintenance, and ensuring all items are presented promptly and correctly. The porter must work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and help create an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
• Be responsible for receiving all liquor, beer and wine from storeroom in a daily basis.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bar, refrigerators, and service areas of the bar in an organized manner.
• Replenish all liquor, beer and wine as needed in the bar during the shift.
• Be familiar with beverages, cocktails and hotel mixing portion control according to hotel standards.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
• Assist in clearing and resetting tables as needed.
• Ensure food items are delivered at the correct temperature and in accordance with special requests or dietary restrictions.
• Keep workstations, tray stands, and service areas clean, organized, and well stocked.
• Assist servers with pre-bussing, refilling beverages, and handling guest requests.
• Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Complete all opening, closing, and side-work duties as assigned.
• Assist in ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar or lounge areas.
• Follow prescribed procedures in serving alcohol with care to avoid any challenges with intoxicated guests.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction by providing attentive and efficient service

Qualifications

Education & Experience: 

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Progressive experience in a restaurant, hotel, food service role or a related field.
• Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Physical requirements:

• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 ponds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand and move quickly during the entire shift.
