School Based Youth Services (SBYS) What services does SBYS provide?
Life Coaching to guide students in accomplishing their personal goals such as improving health, boosting grades, saving money, applying/interviewing for a job, stopping vaping/smoking, etc. Informal supportive counseling for individuals and families. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate working families. For those who require additional assistance, we can conduct an intake for clinical therapy and/or a psychiatric evaluation through Acenda Integrated Health. Class presentations, evidence-based prevention education & interventions, and lunch-time groups covering substance use, employment skills, decision making, social-emotional skills, psycho-educational learning groups, etc..
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate small group psycho-educational learning, social-emotional skills, evidence-based prevention program(s) and interventions, etc.
- Provide administrative task & organizational support to the program as needed or requested
- Support students in conflict resolution and/or conflict mediation as needed
- Guide students in making SMART goals and monitor progress & success
- Document daily/weekly progress notes into SBYS Connex system in a timely manner, or as otherwise required
Requirements:
- Candidate must be enrolled in a Bachelor's level Social Work and/or Counseling degree program that requires internship
- Location: Cape May County, Cape May County Technical High School
- Anticipated Start: Fall 2024
