Program Overview: Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services is a 24/7 crisis intervention service that offers face-to-face crisis and emergency intervention to individuals who are suicidal, homicidal, or acutely psychotic.
Position Summary:
- The Psychiatric Emergency Screener (PES) conducts mental health evaluations and assessments to determine the need for hospitalization, either voluntary or involuntary.
- Works collaboratively with all staff to effectively communicate and problem solve.
- Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently.
- Must regularly be able to see, speak and hear. Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, use hands and arms and must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in the mental-health-related field from an accredited institution, plus three years post-bachelors, full-time equivalent, professional experience in the mental health field, one of which is in a crisis setting;
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record
Preferred:
- Master's degree in the mental-health-related field from an accredited institution, plus one year of postmaster's, full-time equivalent, professional experience in a psychiatric setting;
