Reports to: General Manager
Summary/objective
Responsible for developing, coordinating, and supervising all youth programs and activities, including After-school, Summer Camp, Kids Night Out, Kids Day Off, and other youth-focused events.
Essential Functions

- Provide strong leadership with excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- Responsible for the hiring and training of team members
- Develop an adequate staffing plan and team schedule
- Monitor team member productivity, provide constructive feedback and coaching
- Create and foster a team culture that is centered on achieving goals with a high level of customer service
- Conduct periodic and annual team performance evaluations
- Keep team and members informed of events and activities and encourage participation
- Support and handle member issues; make decisions in consideration of the club’s policies and procedures
- Create and support special events to promote the department and club
- Maintain regularly scheduled hours on the department schedule
- Maintain facility and equipment in safe, working, and clean condition
- Purchase and maintain supplies necessary for successful facility operation
- Follow licensing guidelines and requirements for any programs requiring licenses
- Develop fun, creative, and revenue-producing programs
- Communicate in a professional and timely manner, specifically when it relates to communication with parents/caregivers
- Active participation and support in system-wide departmental project teams
- Appropriately document any incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences
Requirements
Physical Demands
- Able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift
- Able to fully participate in all program activities
- Available to work in warm and humid outdoor conditions
- Available to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Required competencies, education, and experience
- College Degree required
- Must have a working knowledge of State and/or federal childcare standards
- Must be able to successfully pass background checks as required by state social services standards
- Prior experience leading and managing youth programs preferred
- Prior experience with leading and supervising teams
- Superior customer service and communication skills
- Must have a genuine interest in working with and interacting with children
- Proficient computer skills
- All ages CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification
- H.E.R.O. training must be completed within the first 30 days of employment
