Job Summary
Maintains restaurant work areas and guest areas in a clean, neat and sanitary condition. Provides casual or full service to diners in the bistro and/or dining room. Assists with special functions as scheduled. Hours of work/days will vary. Schedule includes working every other weekend and holidays. This job is full-time.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Maintains a professional attitude, including a high standard of cleanliness and neatness, and wears the proper uniform at all times.
· Follows standards for safe food handling and infection control measures such as proper handwashing, and use of hair restraints.
· Responsible for the sanitary maintenance of dining spaces, kitchen area, storage rooms and units, stoves, work tables and equipment.
· Checks dining areas before start of service for complete table set up and cleanliness of dining space.
· Utilizes Point of Sale (POS) system with accurate entry of resident and guest information, ensuring correct order information and proper billing.
· Attends to guests’ needs in dining areas. Pours water, serves coffee and beverages, and serves food with proper meal etiquette, serving techniques and sanitation standards.
· Ensures resident satisfaction by recognizing problems, responding promptly and courteously to special requests, and seeks out support of Dining Room Supervisor or chefs to resolve resident/guest concerns.
· Delivers meals to residents when there are orders for Room Service.
· Completes all production and sanitation responsibilities as assigned.
· Responsible for cleaning after meals and for resetting dining spaces in preparation for the next diners.
· Ware washing which includes utilizing the dish machine or handwashing items that are not machine washable. Returns clean dishes and utensils to proper kitchen units to ensure smooth service delivery.
· Follows all safety protocols, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and proper handling of sharps, chemicals and safety signs.
· Assists in setting up and breaking down private functions and special events.
· Assists in training new associates as necessary.
· Attends inservice training, and participates in shift meetings. Completes Net Learning and bi-monthly safety training.
· Cooperatively assists fellow associates in serving guest meals and completion of post-meal clean up.
· Performs related duties as assigned to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of the residents/guests and of coworkers.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Six months of related food service experience preferred.
· Basic computer skills required.
· Knowledge of all phases of serving food and proper sanitation and cleaning methods is preferred.
· Excellent personal hygiene and personal grooming required.
The base range for this position is $16.00 - $16.90 per hour commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education & prior accomplishments.
The position may be eligible for additional compensation not listed here, including but not limited to shift differentials, incentives or bonuses, as applicable.
