Academic Assistant II - Writing, Reading, Speech

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
To provide academic assistance to students in the Writing, Reading, Speech Assistance Area of the College of DuPage. Academic Assistant II will offer presentations in classrooms or online.
- Provide writing, reading, and public speaking assistance to students in all academic disciplines taught at the College of DuPage, in-person and online.
- Provide in-class and online orientations on WRSA services.
- Conduct and / or create workshops on various writing, reading, and speech topics to be presented in classrooms or through webinars.
- Consult and serve as a resource to other academic assistants and peer academic assistants.
- Develop and / or participate in training on WRSA related topics.
- Maintain current and relevant knowledge in subject areas and general study skills. Qualifications :
- Education :
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required.
Experience teaching or providing academic assistance required.
Working Conditions :
Ten (10) to twenty-five (25) hours per week during academic terms only (approximately 40 weeks per year). Some evening or weekend hours are required. Up-to-date skills in relevant technologies. This position is subject to a background check and education verification at the expense of the College.
Pay Grade :
noncredit nonclassroom Category 3 - $25.75 per hour
