Academics Plus Charter Schools, Inc. (APCSI) is seeking an innovative and qualified 4-7 Counselor and part time assistance as a dyslexia interventionist for the 2025-2026 school year to join our team. Master's Degree (preferable in School Counseling, College Student Personnel, or related services).
JOB GOALS: Plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive program of guidance, including counseling services to school assigned. Use a planning process to define needs and priorities of population served. Provide a proactive, developmental guidance program for all students to maximize personal growth and development.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively plan and implement the school guidance and counselling program to meet identified needs.
- Provide guidance to individuals and groups of students to develop education, career and personal plans.
- Collaborate with other school staff to design testing and appraisal programs for students.
- Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the guidance program and implement changes based on the findings.
- Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those identified needs.
- Demonstrate the use of appropriate and effective techniques for community and parent involvement.
- Assist with all student testing.
- Participate in activities which are related to school functions and/or educational process which occur outside the regular school day.
- Assist students in making appropriate decisions.
- Assist principal with students with chronic discipline issues.
- Communicate positively with students, parents, visitors and staff.
- Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing.
- Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
- Provide dyslexia interventions to students as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
