Salary : Overview
Seeking a 6-12 Spanish Language Teacher who employs a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom, prepares motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, child development, and student abilities, and encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective. Candidates should have native or near-native level fluency and teach predominantly in the target language. International candidates requiring a visa must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and a teaching degree.
Status of Position
This is a full-time position with Acadmie Lafayette. This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.
Reporting
The Spanish Language Teacher reports to their campus / building principal.
Responsibilities
- Employs a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels.
- Prepares motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, child development, and students varying abilities.
- Encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of students and nurtures them to be globally minded.
- Communicates effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators and responds promptly to parents concerns.
- Utilizes a variety of assessments and student data to inform lessons and instructional activities.
- Creates a learning environment that is positive and engaging, communicates clear expectations, routines and procedures for classwork, homework and assessments.
- Maintains a culture of literacy and inquiry through the use of current literature and other instructional resources that support critical thinking.
- Meets grade reporting deadlines and requirements and follows school-wide procedures for monitoring and providing feedback on student progress.
- Maintains substitute plans and engages substitutes in advance when needed and when possible.
- Continues to engage in professional development opportunities to update knowledge of content area(s).
- Engages in professional goal setting and review process with assigned administrator.
- Attends and participates appropriately in all divisional, and departmental / team faculty meetings.
