2025-2026 Middle School French Immersion Mathematics Teacher
Duties
- Employs a variety of mathematics teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels.
- Prepares motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, child development, and students’ varying abilities.
- Encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of students and nurtures them to be globally minded.
- Communicates effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators and responds promptly to parents’ concerns.
- Utilizes a variety of assessments and student data to inform lessons and instructional activities.
- Creates a learning environment that is positive and engaging, communicates clear expectations, routines and procedures for classwork, homework and assessments.
- Maintains a culture of literacy and inquiry through the use of current literature and other instructional resources that support critical thinking.
- Meets grade reporting deadlines and requirements and follows school-wide procedures for monitoring and providing feedback on student progress.
- Maintains substitute plans and engages substitutes in advance when needed and when possible.
- Participates actively in professional development opportunities (including IB training) to update knowledge of content area(s) and engages in professional goal setting and review process with assigned administrator.
- Attends and actively participates in all divisional and departmental/team faculty meetings.
- Works and communicates effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Manages multiple tasks efficiently and to meet deadlines. Integrates technology to augment, modify and redefine learning tasks.
- Passes federal fingerprint background through MACHS and registers with the Family Care Safety Registry prior to assuming responsibility for classroom teaching (may be done post hire).
Minimum Requirements
- Postsecondary degree (will accept 4 year Bachelor's or 3 year Licence or Diploma) in Education, Foreign Language Education or field related to the assigned content area (i.e. Mathematics).
- Hold or be eligible for a Missouri Teaching Certificate, or, for non-US degreed candidates (Licence/diploma), have valid credentials to teach in home country in accordance with MO Revised Statutes 160.420.
- Demonstrated ability to teach assigned content in French (native or near-native proficiency in French).
- Demonstrated effective classroom management skills.
